Items You'll Need To Organize Important Documents And Memories At Home

Do you have papers scattered everywhere or loose photos, children's crafts, birthday cards or other sentimental items floating around? If it feels overwhelming, I'm here to show you a simple organizational system that can ease your overwhelm in one spot!

With a memory box, you can create one per person in your home so that each person's belongings can be separated. Just imagine how nice it would be to find specific documents or to spend time looking back at your precious memories with ease.

Here are the items you’ll need:

  1. Stackable plastic banker’s box with a lid

  2. Letter stickers OR any label for the front of the box

  3. Hanging file folders

  4. Label maker OR write your own labels for the file folders

  5. Label tape for the label maker

You can use as many folders and customize your labels as needed. In this particular situation, I created one for my niece who is only 9 months old. I used 25 letter size file folders with the following labels:

  • Baby

  • Age one

  • Age two

  • Age three

  • Junior kindergarten

  • Senior kindergarten

  • Grade 1 to 12

  • College/university

  • Achievements

  • Birthdays

  • Medical

  • Documents

  • Keepsakes

  • Extracurriculars

I chose this tinted bin and wooden letters because I think it looks a bit more sophisticated than a clear bin with plain sticker letters, but it's all up to you! This is a great way to keep things organized and all in one place.

Hope this helps!

Vanessa
